The A&R Department recently established Straight From The Art, a satellite label under The A&R Department. Straight From The Art, has been established to add to targeting possibilities and agility within campaigns. Under The A&R Department, Straight From The Art gives guidance from defining artistic direction, song writing, release strategies, radio servicing, publicity and distribution. The A&R Department and Straight From The Art, know how to navigate the music industry, and offers accessible and affordable guidance in all facets of the music business.
Straight From The Art was created in 2003 while Matt O'Connor was head of A&R at Warner Music releasing such acts as Drapht, Bliss n Esso, Koolismo and Hermitude. After a hiatus, Straight From The Art has been reinstated with a renewed vision to establish up and coming artists in Australia and New Zealand.
2016 saw the release of The Coconut Kids, Peyton and Songbird. The Coconut Kids received acclaim for their track 'Un De Plus', receiving a Tone Deaf premiere. The video for the track was featured on MTV and this year The Coconut Kids have been invited to play at SXSW in Austin, Texas. 2017 is expected to be a huge year for Straight From The Art with a number of exciting releases in store.
