Introducing the title track from Tak-Un-Da, meaning: “We have conquered, we are victorious.”
Tak-Un-Da was born in Zimbabwe but left the nation shortly, making his way into South Africa then moving to Australia. Primarily residing in the ACT when not on tour.
For his first major single “Sex So Good”, Tak-Un-Da linked up Atlanta based beat producer Flawless, who was discovered through a friend online, and from that chance discovery there the track was born, with further additions, recording and mixing being conducted locally from local artist Louis Montgomery, a member of Slow Turismo.
In the words of Tak-Un-Da himself, “The track itself is representative of the real and toxic relationships that our generation succumb to, in a world where sex is an everyday thing, the meaning of a relationship has been diluted and the fabric of courtship, marriage and companionship has been unraveled. The sanctity has been lost.”
“Sex So Good” is designed to feel as if were a live performance on your radio. A love song with a touch of darkness that pulls on the 1970’s funk reminiscent of Washington GO GO, or the legendary The Roots band. All the while Tak-Un-Da delivers his verses in a style reminiscent of Meechy Darko of Flatbush Zombies, while his international developed voice plays on the beats like a young Kanye West.
Tak-Un-Da has several gigs in the near future. He’s the headline for Fashfest 2016, and will be announcing plenty more shows throughout July. Look him up on Facebook for more details.
